Do guys ever get completely smitten with a girl they've only interacted with briefly?

and oberserved frequently? And I'm talking about a girl they'd be serious about....not just some dumb "hot" girl. If so, how do they tend to act around this girl? and what things might they resort to to try to talk to her or get to know her better?
