Atheists: Can I have your opinions please, on one of "your own"?

I have no trouble believing that an "outspoken atheist" might be singled out in some places. However, there seems to be no evidence of that in this case. While I know that cover-ups can go waaay up the ladder, I also know that we humans (and we atheists are human) can do nutty stuff too.
