Why do people say THIS??????

An atheist doesn't denounce God they denounce the practice of worship in a religion because they feel it creates a closed minded attitude and doesn't create an environment that encourages people to think for themselves. That's not to say religion prohibits free thinking its just not encouraged that people form ideas and beliefs that differ from their religious practice. One thing Atheists really dislike is when parents bring their kid to church. It's fine that they want to share that part of their life with their child but they don't expose their children to any other beliefs and the kids end up growing up with only one point of view and the belief that this is the "right" religion is so much a part of them that they have no chance to honestly and objectively explore other beliefs and that's what Atheists don't like.
