Do you believe it's ok to eat meat and if so, why?

I love meat. Look at it like this, those animals you talk about had no thoughts or families. They had emotions only they loverd maybe, and had insticts. I wasn't sure about prop 2 because i think the animals should be treated cool, but I don't want it to be free to bacteria and other things that may make it unsafe to eat, besides i'm going to eat it anyway so it really doent matter.
